About Solarize Allegheny

Request for Proposal (RFP) for Communities

Is your community interested in participating in Solarize Allegheny? We will be selecting additional communities to host the campaign. Municipalities in Allegheny County, City of Pittsburgh neighborhoods, or School Districts are eligible to apply at any time. There is no deadline to submit an RFP. Up to three communities can apply as a coalition.

The Request for Proposal (RFP) is available hereSolarize Allegheny RFP_open enrollment_090116. Please send an email to spillar@smartpower.org to indicate that your community is considering submitting an RFP response. This information helps with planning purposes.

For questions, please contact Sharon Pillar, project director, Solarize Allegheny at spillar@smartpower.org (preferred) or at 412-215-5995.

    • An informational webinar was held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at noon (12:00 PM) for Phase 3. The webinar was recorded and can be viewed below. The information (except for the due dates) is the same for any community campaign and can be helpful to answer your questions about the program.

Does your organization, faith community, business or community group wish to participate in Solarize Allegheny?

Solarize Allegheny is looking for “affinity group,” as we call them, to participate in a solarize campaign. “Affinity” groups could include non-profit organizations, businesses, faith communities or community organizations. Solarize Allegheny will design a campaign that works best for your organization, which would probably include at least one in-person educational workshop about solar (we can do more than one) and communication from you to your members, employees, and/or constituents about the campaign. Interested organizations should contact Sharon Pillar directly at spillar@smartpower.org .
